Laura Miller

Hello! My name is Laura and I'm so excited to be a part of Kidz University this summer! I moved to Denver this past November after teaching in Charlotte, NC! I was a third grade teacher there for three years. I received my Bachelor’s in Music Education from SUNY Fredonia in 2012. I initially planned to become a music teacher, but after substituting in a school district as an elementary teacher, I found a deeper passion for being in my own classroom, teaching content other than solely music. It was the idea of leading my own classroom and teaching all subject areas that inspired me to obtain my Masters in Childhood and Special Education from New York. After my master’s program, I taught children of all ages, starting as young as one and as old as eighteen and became a teacher’s assistant, a substitute and a lead teacher in both New York and North Carolina. I have most of my experience with first, second and third grade curriculum. I have a Pug named Louie and in my spare time I love to hike, paint and play the piano.

Jeannine Todd
|
I am Jeannie Todd and am happy to serve as the teacher for the rising 4th and 5th grade class this summer at Kidz University. I retired from teaching in a local school district after 19 years, primarily teaching 5th grade. My Bachelor’s degree was in art, with a minor in music, and I enjoy using these two disciplines in my lessons. I earned a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Denver in 1998. After retiring from teaching, I returned to school to become a Certified Veterinary Assistant, and enjoy working with animals, especially dogs. I love traveling in my spare time, and have visited all 50 states and over 60 countries. I have three children, two grandchildren, and my very large dog, Maggie Mae, to keep life from being boring!
